Early Light Sources (Pre-1800s) -
Before electric light, people relied on candles, oil lamps, and gas lamps for illumination.
Incandescent Light Bulb (1800s) -
1.) 1802 – Humphry Davy created the first incandescent light using a platinum strip.
2.) 1841 – Frederick de Moleyns patented a bulb using platinum filaments in a vacuum.
3.) 1879 – Thomas Edison and Joseph Swan independently developed practical incandescent bulbs with carbon filaments.
Tungsten Filament Bulbs (Early 1900s) -
1.) 1904 – Scientists discovered that tungsten filaments last longer and produce brighter light.
